Mechanism of action

RUTACID - antacid preparation. Hydrotalcite has a layered-mesh structure with a low content of aluminum and magnesium. The release of aluminum ions and magnesium occurs gradually, depending on the pH of the gastric juice. The drug provides a quick and long-lasting neutralization of hydrochloric (hydrochloric) acid with maintaining the pH close to normal levels. It has a protective effect on the gastric mucosa. Reduces the proteolytic activity of pepsin, binds bile acids.

Indications and usage

- acute gastritis;

- chronic gastritis with increased secretory function in the acute phase;

- acute and chronic duodenitis;

- gastric ulcer and duodenal ulcer;

- reflux esophagitis;

- discomfort and pain in the epigastrium, heartburn, sour belching after errors in the diet, excessive alcohol consumption, medication.

Contraindications

- renal failure;

- children's age up to 6 years;

- hypersensitivity to hydrotalcite and other components of the drug.

Adults appoint 500-1000 mg (1-2 tab.) 3-4 times / day 1 hour after meals and before bedtime.

With discomfort and pain in the epigastrium, heartburn, sour belching after errors in the diet, alcohol consumption, medication, the drug is taken as needed by 500-1000 mg (1-2 tablets) once.

Children aged 6–12 years are prescribed half the dose for adults.

The duration of treatment is determined individually.

Tablets should be chewed thoroughly.

Adverse reactions

From the digestive system: diarrhea is possible when taking the drug in high doses.

Drug interactions

Rutacid reduces the absorption of Tetracycline antibiotics, fluoroquinolones (ciprofloxacin, ofloxacin), oral anticoagulants, iron preparations.

The drug should be stored at room temperature (not above 30 ° C).
