Mechanism of action

Proctosedyl ointment - a combined drug for the treatment of hemorrhoids and other diseases of the anorectal zone.

Hydrocortisone - glucocorticosteroid, is an anti-inflammatory agent.

Eliminates various signs and symptoms of inflammation, such as redness, swelling, pain, etc.

Heparin sodium is an anticoagulant. Prevents thrombotic complications of hemorrhoids.

Framycetin sulfate is a broad-spectrum antibiotic for topical use.

It has bactericidal activity against a number of gram-positive and gram-negative microorganisms.

Esculoside is related to vitamin P, reduces the increased capillary fragility.

Ethylaminobenzoate and butylaminobenzoate have a local anesthetic and antipruritic effect, reduce spasm of the anal sphincter.

The effect of the drug appears a few minutes after application.

Indications and usage

- Internal and external hemorrhoids.
- Prevention of relapse.

Contraindications

- Hypersensitivity to the drug.
- The drug can not be used for tuberculosis, viral, fungal lesions of the anorectal zone.
- Do not use the drug during pregnancy and during lactation.
- The drug is contraindicated in infancy.

The drug should be used with caution in patients with arterial hypertension, heart failure.

Dosage and administration

A small amount of ointment is applied with a finger on the areas of localization of itching or pain in the morning and evening, and also after each bowel movement.

For a deeper introduction to the rectum, put the applicator on the tube of ointment, make sure that it is inserted deep enough into the rectum, and then, carefully pressing the tube from the lower end, gradually remove the applicator.

The ointment can be used alone or in combination with rectal capsules.

Proctosedyl is applied for a short time (not more than 7 days).
