Composition

Phosphogliv capsules: 1 capsule contains phosphatidylcholine 65 mg and glycyrrhizic acid trisodium salt 35 mg;
50 capsules per pack.

Mechanism of action

Phosphogliv is an original hepatoprotective drug based on phosphatidylcholine (phospholipid) of plant origin (from soybean seeds) and trisodium salt of glycyrrhizic acid from Licorice root.
Phosphogliv was developed in the Institute of Biomedical Chemistry of the Russian Academy of Medical Sciences as an improved analogue of the drug Essentiale used by the company Nattermann Internetional GmBH, Germany for the treatment of liver diseases.
Phospholipids are the main structural component of all cell membranes. When administered orally into the body, phospholipids restore the integrity of cell membranes, primarily the liver, the hepatocytes.
Glycyrrhizinic acid has a broad spectrum of biological activity, anti-inflammatory properties, and is used to treat liver diseases of toxic and viral origin, including hepatitis C. Due to its detergent action, it provides emulsification of fasfatidylcholine in the intestine.
The combination of these two components makes Phosphogliv particularly effective in the treatment of the liver.

Capsule dosage form Phosphogliv protects the main components of the drug from destruction under the action of gastric juice.
The components of the drug are well absorbed in the small intestine, both as a whole molecule and the biologically active products of their hydrolysis by digestive enzymes (fatty acids, glyceriin, inorganic phosphate and choline, glycyrrhizin acid), which are transported through the intestinal wall to the lymphatic bed. Partial resynthesis of phosphatidylcholine from hydrolysis products occurs in the liver.
