Mechanism of action
Expectorant of plant origin. The action is due to the presence of volatile components of wild rosemary (palustrol, iceol, etc.), which, standing out through the bronchi, have a moderate local irritating effect on the mucous membranes, increase the secretion of bronchial glands and increase the activity of the ciliary epithelium of the respiratory tract. Ledum rosewood has a spasmolytic effect on the smooth muscles of the bronchi, has anti-inflammatory, as well as diuretic and antimicrobial activity. It has a stimulating effect on the central nervous system.
Indications and usage
Acute and chronic bronchopulmonary diseases, accompanied by cough.
Is taken orally in the form of prepared infusion (10 g of raw material per 200 ml of water) 1/3 - 1/2 cup 2-3 times / day.
Adverse reactions
Irritability, dizziness, irritability, when taking high doses - overexcitement, and in severe cases, depression of the central nervous system.
Contraindications
Hypersensitivity to wild rosemary.
With the development of side effects taking infusion of wild rosemary should be stopped.
