Antifungal drug from the group of polyenes. By binding to sterols in the cell membrane of fungi, it disrupts its permeability, which leads to the release of the main components of the cell. It has a fungistatic effect.

Active against yeast-like fungi of the genus Candida.

Indication for use

candidiasis of the skin and mucous membranes;

candidiasis of internal organs;

prevention of candidiasis during long-term antimicrobial therapy, especially in malnourished and debilitated patients.

Dosage and administration

In the treatment of candidiasis of the internal organs, Nystatin is prescribed orally, regardless of the meal.

Adults are prescribed 500,000 IU 4-8 times / day. With generalized candidiasis, up to 6,000,000 units / day are prescribed.

Children aged 1-3 years are prescribed 250,000 IU 3-4 times / day,

over the age of 3 years - 250,000-500,000 IU 4 times / day.

The duration of treatment is 10-14 days. If necessary, the course of treatment is repeated after a week.

If necessary, repeat courses of treatment are carried out.

Contraindications

liver dysfunction;

pancreatitis;

peptic ulcer of the stomach and duodenum;

pregnancy;

hypersensitivity to the components of the drug.

With the development of adverse reactions, the dose should be reduced or the drug should be discontinued.
