Mechanism of action

Immunomodulatory drug with anti-inflammatory action. Reversibly (at 6-8 h) inhibits the hyperactivity of macrophages, reduces the excessive synthesis of tumor necrosis factor, interleukin-1, the formation of peroxide compounds that determine the development of toxic and diarrheal syndromes.
Normalization of the functional state of macrophages leads to a decrease in autoagression and restoration of the function of T-lymphocytes.
The drug increases the bactericidal activity of neutrophilic granulocytes, enhances phagocytosis, increases the activity of nonspecific defense factors of the body.
Pharmacodynamic effects are observed within 72 hours.

It is rapidly eliminated from the body, mainly through the kidneys. T1/2 makes 15-30 minutes

Indications and usage

As an immunomodulator in the complex therapy of immunodeficiency states:
- in acute and chronic inflammatory diseases of the gastrointestinal tract, accompanied by intoxication and / or diarrhea (acute intestinal infections, gastric ulcer and duodenal ulcer, ulcerative colitis, Crohn's disease, liver damage of various etiologies, gastroenteritis);
- in the pathogenetic treatment of acute infectious diseases (intestinal infections, septic conditions, hepatitis, erysipelas, purulent meningitis, post-traumatic osteomyelitis, obstructive bronchitis, pneumonia);
- in diseases of the urogenital tract (genital herpes, cytomegalovirus infection, chlamydia, mycoplasmosis, uterine myoma, prostate adenoma);
- in case of purulent-septic processes in the pre- and postoperative period and for the prevention of surgical complications;
- with chronic recurrent furunculosis;
- in case of chronic recurrent herpetic infection;
- With chronic inflammatory diseases that have arisen against the background of secondary immunological failure;
- for immunocorrection and immunorehabilitation with oncological diseases (as part of complex chemo- and radiotherapy).

The dosage regimen and duration of therapy are set individually, depending on the nature, severity and duration of the disease.
At acute intestinal infections (salmonellosis, dysentery, foodborne illness) and other diseases associated with diarrhea, the initial single dose is 200 mg. Then the drug is administered in a dose of 100 mg 2-3 times / day before the relief of symptoms of intoxication (usually 2-3 injections are enough).
At infectious diseases of various etiologies (including septic conditions, erysipelas, hepatitis, meningitis) initial dose is 200 mg. Then proceed to the introduction of the drug 100 mg 2-3 times / day before the relief of symptoms of intoxication and inflammation. Further, it is possible to continue the course of therapy at a dose of 100 mg 1 time in 2-3 days. The duration of the course depends on the patient's condition and can be up to 25 injections.
At inflammatory diseases of the digestive tract (peptic ulcer, ulcerative colitis, Crohn's disease) and urinary system (urethritis, prostatitis, pyelitis, pyelonephritis, salpingitis, vaginitis) the initial dose in the acute period is 200 mg / day once 1-2 days, then move on to the introduction of the drug in 100 mg 1 time in 2-3 days. The course is 15-25 injections, depending on the condition of the patient.
At chronic diseases appoint 100 mg 1 time in 3 days. The course of treatment is up to 20 injections.
At uterine myome appoint 100 mg / day daily for 5 days, then 100 mg every other day - 5 injections, then 5 injections - 10 days. The course of treatment is 15-20 injections.
At prostate adenoma the drug is prescribed daily at 100 mg / day for 5 days, then 100 mg 1 time in 3 days. The course of treatment is 20-25 injections.
At purulent-septic processes in the pre- and postoperative period, as well as for the prevention of postoperative complications prescribe 100 mg of the drug every other day - 5-10 injections, then 100 mg 1 time in 3 days. Course - 20 injections.
At chronic recurrent furunculosis designate 100 mg of the drug daily for 5 days, then 100 mg every other day - 15 injections. General course - 20 injections.
At chronic recurrent herpetic infection (as part of complex therapy) prescribed 100 mg / day every other day - 15-20 injections; or 100 mg / day daily for 10 days, then 100 mg every other day - 15 injections. Course - 25 injections.
At chronic inflammatory diseases that have arisen on the background of immunodeficiency states appoint 100 mg 1 time in 3 days or 100 mg daily for 5 days, then once in 2-3 days. General course - 20 injections.
For immunocorrection in cancer (in combination with Chemotherapy and radiation therapy) Galavit is prescribed 100 mg every other day up to 5 injections, then once in 3 days. General course - 20 injections.
Rules of preparation of the solution
Before the introduction of the powder is dissolved in 2-3 ml of water for injection or saline in compliance with the rules of asepsis.
