Mechanism of action

Lavacol has a laxative effect.

Indications and usage

Preparing for endoscopic or radiological examination of the colon, as well as for surgical interventions that require the absence of contents in the intestine (surgeries in gastroenterology, proctology, gynecology, etc.)

Contraindications

Severe violations of the patient’s general condition (including dehydration, heart failure), intestinal obstruction, toxic expansion of the colon, stomach stenosis, perforation of the stomach or intestines, erosive and ulcerative lesions of the gastrointestinal tract, impaired renal function.

Dosage and administration

1 bag of the drug is diluted in 1 glass of water (200 ml) at room temperature.
Take a solution of 200 ml in 20-30 minutes. Faster administration of single doses (after 10–15 minutes) causes an acceleration of the washing effect and an increase in the quality of the preparation.
After 1-1.5 hours after taking the drug, a chair will appear!
Just take 3 liters of solution.
On the day of the study, you can drink any liquid (water, juice, juice, tea, etc.) in
a small amount and no later than 2 hours before the start of the study.

There are two ways of dosing the drug:

1) if the study is scheduled for 8-9 o'clock in the morning, then the reception of 3 liters of the drug solution should be carried out from 16.00-21.00 hours the night before.
2) if the study is scheduled for 11-12 hours and later, then the total dose is divided into 2 doses: 2n - from 18.00 to 21.00 hours, and 1l in the morning from 6.00 to 7.00 hours.

Adverse reactions

In rare cases, nausea and vomiting, feeling of heaviness and discomfort when taking the first doses of the drug are possible.
