Antimicrotoxic drug with antimicrobial action.

Indications for use

Trichomoniasis, giardiasis, amebiasis (including hepatic form and amoebic dysentery). Infections of various localization caused by anaerobic bacteria (infections of the skin and soft tissues, pneumonia, empyema, lung abscess, in acute ulcerous gingivitis).

Eradication of Helicobacter pylori (in combination therapy with bismuth preparations and antibiotics).

The drug is used to prevent postoperative infectious complications caused by anaerobes.

Contraindications

Hypersensitivity to the drug or other derivatives of 5-nitroimidazole, organic diseases of the central nervous system, inhibition of bone marrow hematopoiesis, I trimester of pregnancy, lactation. Children's age up to 12 years.

Dosage and administration

Individual. Adults - 1.5-2 g 1 time / day; children (with the exception of prevention of postoperative anaerobic infections) - 50-75 mg / kg 1 time / day. The duration of treatment is determined by the clinical situation and can be 1-10 days.
