Composition

The active substance is Vinpocetine.

Antiagregatine, improves cerebral circulation, vasodilator, antihypoxic. Inhibits phosphodiesterase and increases the content of cAMP in the cells, which, in turn, leads to a decrease in the Calcium content in the cytoplasm of vascular smooth muscle cells and relaxation of myofibrils. Rapidly absorbed from the digestive tract. The maximum plasma concentration is reached after 1 hour. It easily diffuses through histohematogenous barriers, including BBB, and penetrates tissues. It expands the blood vessels of the brain, increases blood flow, mainly in ischemic areas, improves the supply of oxygen to the brain. It promotes glucose utilization and increases the level of catecholamines in the central nervous system, stimulates the metabolism of norepinephrine and serotonin in brain tissues. Reduces platelet aggregation, blood viscosity, contributes to the normalization of venous outflow against the background of reducing the resistance of cerebral vessels. Systemic blood pressure decreases slightly. It is effective in the acute period of a stroke: accelerates the regression of cerebral and focal symptoms, improves memory, attention, and intellectual productivity.

Acute and chronic disorders of cerebral blood circulation (stroke, brain injury, atherosclerotic changes of brain vessels), memory disorders, movement disorders, dizziness, headache, cerebral vasospasm, arteriolosclerotic and angiospastic changes of the retina and choroid, arterial and venous thrombosis of the cerebral vessels, vascular or toxic (medical) disorders of the organ of hearing, vegetative manifestations of menopausal syndrome.

Contraindications

Severe cardiac arrhythmias, high functional class angina, pregnancy, lactation.

Hypotension, tachycardia, extrasystole, an increase in the duration of electrical ventricular systole; with parenteral administration: dizziness, feeling of heat, facial flushing, thrombophlebitis at the injection site.

Increases the risk of hemorrhagic complications on the background of Heparin therapy.

Overdosage

In case of intoxication, gastric lavage, taking activated charcoal and symptomatic treatment are recommended.

Intravenous 1-2 ampoules of 0.5% solution in 500-1000 ml of isotonic sodium chloride solution. If necessary, repeat (3 times a day) slow drip infusions are prescribed, then they are transferred to the drug intake.

Patients with cardiac pathology Vinpocetine can not be administered intravenously because of the risk of developing arrhythmias until ventricular fibrillation. With caution prescribed for hemorrhagic stroke (only after the completion of the acute phase).
