Composition and release form
Zyprexa-tablets:
1 coated pill contains olanzapine 5; 7.5 or 10 mg; 28 pieces per pack.
pharmachologic effect
Zyprexa has an antipsychotic effect. Being a ligand of serotonin (2A / 2C, 3, 6), dopamine (D1-D5), m-cholino (m1-m5), histamine H1 and alpha1-adrenoreceptors, it selectively affects the limbic system.
Indications
Acute form of schizophrenia and other psychoses, accompanied by pronounced positive (delusions, hallucinations, mental disorders, hostility, suspicion) and / or negative (dull affect, emotional and social isolation, poverty of speech activity) symptoms. Secondary affective symptoms on the background of schizophrenia and comorbid disorders.
Contraindications

Use during pregnancy and lactation

Side effects
Frequent (more than 10%) - drowsiness, weight gain; rare (less than 10%) - dizziness, dry mouth, constipation, peripheral edema, orthostatic hypotension, akathisia, dystonias, eosinophilia (asymptomatic), a small and temporary increase in the level of prolactin (gynecomastia, lactorrhea),hepatic transaminase activity.
Dosage and administration

special instructions
Zyprexa is prescribed with caution in patients with prostate hypertrophy, angle-closure glaucoma, paralytic intestinal obstruction, the presence of convulsive conditions in history, liver and kidney diseases; in patients with altered hematological parameters; as well as in combination with other means of depressing the central nervous system (including with alcohol). It is not recommended to manage potentially dangerous mechanisms (vehicles, etc.) during treatment.
