Mechanism of action

Vitaprost Forte is a preparation of animal origin. It has an organotropic effect on the prostate gland. Reduces the degree of edema, leukocyte infiltration of the prostate gland, normalizes the secretory function of epithelial cells, increases the number of lecithin grains in the secret of acini, stimulates bladder muscle tone. It improves microcirculation in the prostate gland by reducing thrombus formation, antiplatelet activity, prevents the development of venules thrombosis in the prostate gland.

Based on data from clinical studies, Vitaprost Forte has been shown to moderately reduce the volume of the prostate gland. The drug reduces the severity of obstructive and irritative symptoms in benign prostatic hyperplasia, which is reflected in an increase in the maximum and average volumetric flow rates of urine and a decrease in the volume of residual urine.

Vitaprost Forte improves blood microcirculation in the bladder wall by expanding intact vessels (vasodilation effect), thereby helping to restore oxygen delivery to tissues that experience hypoxia, which stimulates physiological repair. It has an anti-inflammatory effect due to the improvement of the trophic processes of the bladder wall and stimulation of regenerative processes. Activation of the organ blood flow improves the adaptive and contractile activity of the detrusor, increasing the capacity of the bladder.

The decrease in detrusor ischemia can be explained by a marked decrease in bladder hyperactivity, which continues even after the end of Vitaprost Forte.

Indications and usage

- chronic prostatitis;

- benign prostatic hyperplasia;

Contraindications

Children and adolescents up to 18 years (the period of formation and growth of the skeleton).

Apply rectally to 1 suppository after spontaneous emptying or cleansing enema of the intestine 1 time per day. After the introduction of the suppository, the patient should be in bed for 30-40 minutes.

The duration of treatment is determined individually by the doctor. The minimum duration of the course of treatment with the suppositories of Vitaprost Forte atbenign prostatic hyperplasia - 15 days, with chronic prostate - 10 days, with overactive bladder - 20 days.
