Active ingredient and dosage form
Methyluracil tablets: 1 pill contains Methyluracil 500 mg;
50 pills per pack.
Mechanism of action
Methyluracil is a drug that improves tissue trophism and stimulates the regeneration process.
It has anabolic and anti-catabolic activity, stimulates leukopoez. Normalizing nucleic acid metabolism, accelerates cell regeneration processes in wounds, accelerating tissue growth and granulation maturation and epithelialization. When applied locally to the wound, it has photoprotective properties.
It has an immunostimulating effect: it stimulates cellular and humoral immunity factors.
It has an anti-inflammatory effect, which is associated with the ability to suppress the activity of proteolytic enzymes. Effective in diseases of the gastrointestinal tract, which is associated with the normalization of nucleic acid metabolism in the mucosa.
Indications and usage
leukopenia, agranulocytic sore throat, alimentary-toxic Aleikia, sore-healing wounds, burns, bone fractures, gastric ulcer and duodenal ulcer, intoxication with benzene, radiation damage.
Contraindications
- acute and chronic leukemic forms of leukemia;
- Hodgkin's disease;
- Malignant neoplasm of the digestive tract;
- Hypersensitivity to the drug.
Dosage and administration
Tablets prescribedfor adults on 500 mg 4 times a day.
The maximum daily dose is 3 mg.
Children aged 3 to 8 years appoint 250 mg 3 times a day; over the age of 8 years - 250-500 mg 3 times a day.
The drug is recommended to be taken during or after a meal.
Adverse reactions
Rarely: headache, dizziness, allergic reactions in the form of a skin rash.
With the introduction of candles into the rectum, there is sometimes a brief slight burning sensation.
Methyluracil is usually effective only in the treatment of mild forms of leukopenia.
Storage conditions
In a dry, dark place at room temperature.
