Karipazim
Active ingredient and dosage form
Karipazim - lyophilisate for preparing a solution for external use:
1 fl. contains papain (proteases of papaya fruits) 350, 700 PE; in the package 1 bottle.
Mechanism of action
Proteolytic agent. Karipazim cleaves necrotic tissue, thins viscous secrets, exudates, and blood clots. The action is close to chymotrypsin and trypsin.
Indications and usage
Burns IIIa degree (to accelerate the rejection of scabs and cleanse granulating wounds from the remnants of purulent-necrotic tissue).
Contraindications
Hypersensitivity.
Adverse reactions
Allergic reactions.
Dosage and administration
Caripazim is used externally in the form of 0.5%, 1% or 2% solutions (depending on the scab thickness). Solutions are prepared ex tempore in a 0.5% solution of procaine or 0.9% sodium chloride solution. A napkin moistened with Caripazim is placed on the burned surface, covered with a moisture-proof bandage. At the same time process no more than 30% of the total surface of the body. The dressing is changed 1 time / day. or 1 time in 2 days, deleting at the same time the exfoliated necrotic tissue. The course of treatment is from 4 to 12 days.
