Active ingredient and dosage form
Teotard capsules:
1 capsule retard contains theophylline 200 or 350 mg;

Mechanism of action
Theotard has a bronchodilator effect.
Indications and usage
Bronchial asthma, asthmatic status, obstructive bronchitis, emphysema, apnea in newborns (adjuvant).
Contraindications
Hypersensitivity, incl. and other xanthine derivatives (caffeine, Pentoxifylline, theobromine), hemorrhagic stroke, retinal hemorrhage, acute myocardial infarction, marked atherosclerosis of the coronary arteries, bleeding in recent history, pregnancy, breastfeeding (for the duration of treatment).
Dosage and administration
Theotard is taken orally, after eating, without chewing and drinking water. Adults and children weighing more than 40 kg at the beginning of treatment are usually 350 mg 1 time per day (in the evening), the maintenance dose is 350 mg 2 times per day. Adults with underweight and children weighing more than 20 kg - at the beginning of treatment 200 mg 1 time per day (in the evening), then 200 mg 2 times per day. During treatment, the dose is adjusted depending on the serum theophylline level, which should be 10–20 mcg / ml.
Adverse reactions
Anxiety, impaired consciousness, convulsions, visual disturbances, scotoma, angina attacks, arrhythmias, tachycardia, hypotension, laryngitis, sore throat, flu-like syndrome, nasal congestion, xerostomia, anorexia, nausea, vomiting, heartburn, exacerbation of cholecystitis, cholestitis, anatomy, etc., ALT, alkaline phosphatase, LDH), intestinal atony, leukopenia, hypofibrinogenemia, pancytopenia, thrombocytopenia, allergic reactions.
