The active ingredients of hawthorn reduce the excitability of the central nervous system and heart muscle, help to increase the contractility of the latter, improve the coronary and cerebral circulation, eliminate dizziness. Hawthorn contributes to the normalization of heart rhythm, which is due, as expected, the mechanism of action characteristic of class III antiarrhythmics. Due to the presence of triterpene compounds and flavonoids, it has an antispasmodic effect, selectively expanding the vessels of the heart and brain, hypotensive effect, helps to normalize the venous pressure, improves the function of the vascular walls.Experimental studies have shown that herbal hawthorn and triterpene glycosides have a pronounced anti-atherosclerotic effect.
